We are the university research department specialized in environmental governance and the regional development. We undertake regulatory impact analysis, cost-effectiveness, cost-benefit and institutional analyses on different topics. We micro-simulate policy change impacts. Our focus is on practical use of the results in decision-making. We are strongly inter-connected with the academia worldwide.

History of the institute
IEEP was established within the Prague University of Economics in 1997 to bring together experts from a wide range of institutions and disciplines. Its activities have varied, including consultancy, scientific research, education and publishing in the fields of the public policy, the environment governance and regional development. In 2015, the IEEP has shifted to the Jan Evangelista Purkyne University in Usti nad Labem, together with the majority of its core team. Since now, IEEP has realized numerous scientific and application projects. People associated with the institute regularly publish in impacted international journals and publishing houses.
