We are the university research department specialized in environmental governance and the regional development. We undertake regulatory impact analysis, cost-effectiveness, cost-benefit and institutional analyses on different topics. We micro-simulate policy change impacts. Our focus is on practical use of the results in decision-making. We are strongly inter-connected with the academia worldwide.

History of the institute
IEEP was established within the Prague University of Economics in 1997 to bring together experts from a wide range of institutions and disciplines. Its activities have varied, including consultancy, scientific research, education and publishing in the fields of the public policy, the environment governance and regional development. In 2015, the IEEP has shifted to the Jan Evangelista Purkyne University in Usti nad Labem, together with the majority of its core team. Since now, IEEP has realized numerous scientific and application projects. People associated with the institute regularly publish in impacted international journals and publishing houses.

Assoc. Prof. Lenka Slavíková
Executive director
Lenka Slavikova is the institutional economist, project coordinator and the university teacher at the Faculty of Social and Economic Studies of the Jan Evangelista Purkyne University in Usti nad Labem. Her long-term interest is in water and biodiversity governance with the focus on Central and Eastern European Countries. She has been cooperating with IEEP since 2001. Prof. Jiřina Jílková
Founder of the institute, research director
Jirina Jilkova founded IEEP in 1997. Currently, she coordinates numerous research projects and initiatives with the focus on environmental policy and regulatory impact assessment. She has been chairing the Czech Governmental Commission for the Regulatory Impact Assessment and being the member of scientific board in the Czech Republic and Germany. She teaches at the Faculty of Social and Economic Studies of the Jan Evangelista Purkyne University in Usti nad Labem.
Assoc. Prof. Ondřej Vojáček
Ondřej Vojáček deals especially with the evulation of the regulátory impact on businesses and the national economy, with the economy of air and water protection, optimization of the implementation of European legislation in the field of environmental and cost-benefit analysis. Jan Slavik is the research project coordinator and the university teacher at the Faculty of Social and Economic Studies of the Jan Evangelista Purkyne University in Usti nad Labem.
