AIR AND CLIMATE
Project: Tutorial e-learning model for lifelong learning in selected spheres of the Environment (e-climate)

The main aim of the project is to create a tutorial model for e-learning courses for lifelong learning in selected spheres of the environment (focused on climate and its change) thus contributing to increasing the quality and distribution of information connected with environmental protection.
The education will be concentrated on the following issues:
– the physical basis of the climate,
– the naturalistic aspects of the climate,
– the protection of nature, landscape and the atmosphere,
– the economics, legislation and policy of climate protection,
– climate change,
– earth sciences concerning the climate,
– the causes and context of climate change,
– the rational use of natural resources and renewable energy sources.
The dominant themes were chosen on the basis of priorities listed in the Department Research Program of the Ministry of Environment of the Czech Republic and completed with themes with special technical competence as defined in Resolution No. 512/2002.
The project is solved in partnership. The main coordinator is the Department of Geoinformatics at Palacký University in Olomouc, project partners are the IEEP and the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute. The IEEP is concerned with the socio-economic, legal and political aspects of the course.
The aim of the project is to prepare a tutorial model for e-learning courses for lifelong learning in selected spheres of the environment (focused on climate and its change) and thus to ensure both the quality and quantity of information about environmental protection.
Three target groups of inhabitants were defined: students, public officials and the public. The learning model and tutorial courses will be prepared for each of these groups.
The main outputs of the project will be software applications and printed publications and articles.
