Project Objective:

Preliminary estimation of the economic and financial impact of implementing EC law in atmospheric protection. Creation of an initial position for a detailed follow-up study. Intermediate objectives:

  1. the collection and interpretation of all existing information regarding the EC and CR in the area of the atmospheric protection law, critical comment, scope of approximation and harmony,
  2. elaboration of a preliminary estimation of basic and additional costs for implementing and approximating the relevant legislation (also considering the necessary institutional changes), management, promotion of legislation and monitoring (including investment and running costs),
  3. according to the previous outputs define the necessary scale of activities, a timetable, the budget for follow-up studies (considered by Ministry of Environment as necessary for elaborating a detailed approximation strategy).
Brief Summary:
Implementing EU law into atmospheric protection gave rise to significant technological and institutional changes. The changes are linked with the higher financial requirements in investment, operating expenses and expenses relating to institutional changes. The project analyses these impacts from the legal and economic points of view.
Outputs:
Analysis of economic and legal impact of EC atmosphere protection legislation implementation into the Czech law.
